E-Snitch
Ferryworkers need to be vigilant when it comes to our safety and
making sure the employer lives up to the terms of our collective
agreement - no matter how dysfunctional it may be.
Situations like the following need to be reported ASAP to the
union.
- "I witnessed an excluded captain show up today as a chief
officer"
- "today, in catering department, we were 'dismissed' before
the ship even touched the dock"
- "We sailed short a deckhand and an officer and they were not
replaced"
If you think something has happened that takes unnecessary risks
to the safety of our crews, passengers and ships, then please fill
out the form ASAP.
Once completed, the contents of the form is sent to a designated
shop steward who is tasked with dealing with this information as
soon as its received.
If you are reporting 'hearsay' evidence, please be specific about
what you heard and from whom. Many rumours are floating around; some
are hysterical delusions, others are based in fact. Use this form to
get to the bottom of what you heard
If you were a witness to some questionable acts, again please be
as accurate as you can. Record all dates, times and be as
descriptive as you can. Please leave out opinions and non-related
side stories; just keep to the facts.
